The Orders
Takers
Those who eat the dead.
A Taker consumes the memory of the dead for power. To them a Keeping is a full larder, and a good Keeper is the richest one they will find.
One power, two acts. A Taker holds a soul they refuse to truly know, and eats it for what it gives. The dead they finish suffer the second death, being forgotten, gone all the way out. The line between keeping and taking does not run between two camps. It runs inside every person who carries the dead.
