The Library

Through the glass: 2456, where the road forward ends.

Four hundred years past Bram's own time, a forgetting world keeps its dead on shelves: sorted and safe and not one of them loved.

A world that forgot how to keep its dead still has a place for them, at the top of the road. The road there runs one way, forward, and it is paid for in names. At the end of it the dead need to be given back. Given back, and kept.
